Spokane Incinerator: Public Hearing October 08, 2013 5:30 pm Public Works Building 1026 W. Broadway, by the Courthouse

Incinerator Information : Ways to Stop Burning Poisons into Our Air.

SPEAK OUT NOW
To Burn or not to Burn....Yes, it is deja vu all over again!

For over twenty years Spokane has been burning trash and spewing the poisonous air out over our community.  Now that the contract binding us to this albatross is coming to a close at the end of this year, the city wants to make a deal with the county to continue turning trash into exhaust laden with mercury, lead, cadmium, dioxin, fluoride, greenhouse gas and other hazardous chemicals...all for us to inhale! Why?  Because they now own the plant and can make the profit and a utility tax to boot!

Now is your chance to influence what happens in 2014.  Demand that your county commissioners turn away from incineration and support taking our trash to the landfill instead of the toxic ash.

Here's how to make your voice heard:

Attend the Public Hearing:
October 8,  5:30pm
Public Works  Bldg.  Lower Level Hearings Room
1026 W. Broadway (just west of the courthouse)
Spokane, Wa

FILL OUT THE YELLOW SLIP EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEAK SO YOUR COMMENTS WILL GO INTO A WRITTEN RECORD AS SUPPORTING 3A AS THE PREFERRED OPTION.

TELL THE COMMISSIONERS NOT TO GIVE IN TO CITY GREED BY BURNING TRASH.  LET'S START FRESH AND HAVE A REGIONAL SYSTEM THAT REDUCES, REUSES AND RECYCLES AND TAKES WHAT IS LEFT TO THE LANDFILL INSTEAD OF HAULING TOXIC ASH FROM A TRASH BURNER!

IF YOU CAN COME, PLEASE DO---BODIES MATTER.
IF YOU CAN'T THEN PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL OR CALL WITH YOUR OPPOSITION TO BURNING AND DESIRE FOR THEM TO CHOOSE THE LEAST EXPENSIVE LONG HAUL OPTION (3A).
